Australian Archaeology is an international Tier A journal which has been published by the Australian Archaeological Association since 1974. Australian Archaeology publishes original research in the form of articles and short reports, as well as book reviews and obituaries. Our focus is broad but concentrated on Australian archaeological research during the deep and recent past as well as in historical and contemporary times. We encourage scholarly contributions from researchers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, students, cultural heritage managers and consultants emphasising the results of their archaeological research. Australian Archaeology is published three times a year in April, August and November.
Australian Archaeology is indexed in the Arts and Humanities Citation Index of the Web of Knowledge, SCOPUS, Australian Public Affairs Information Service (APAIS) and Anthropological Literature and Anthropological Index Online.
